HI Guys,
I really just wanted to say hello at this stage. My name is Jonathan, I'm 50 years old and, in the past, my wife experienced 4 miscarriages (one before our son was born and 3 before our daughter was born). I'm currently studying to become a counsellor and I found this site through reading a post on the Counselling Tutor Facebook Group.
While I have memories of the dark times of the miscarriages, they're a bit jumbled up now (the last was about 6 years ago). If I'm honest, I don't feel any trauma as a result of them and I just feel lucky that we have two healthy, happy children now. Really I'm here to offer support, if I can. I'll dip my toes into the forum posts very soon.
Best wishes
Thanks, Chris; that's really kind of you. Me and my wife are fortunate. Of course, the 4 miscarriages were traumatic, particularly for my wife, but we now have the 2 children we always wanted and if someone could wave a magic wand and change things so that the original pregnancies didn't fail, we wouldn't want that.
I'll talk more broadly about my experiences of the miscarriages soon, but I am aware how lucky I am, and I wish that same luck to everyone here.
Thanks for setting up the site; It's a wonderful thing that it's here.
Hi Jonathan, Firstly, I’m very sorry to hear that you and your wife suffered through 3 miscarriages. My condolences go out to you both. I want to thank you for reaching out and sharing your story so far and just coming on to say Hi. That’s what this platform was all about. Great to hear that you are training to be a counsellor. I’m sure you will be able to help guys out as we progress this further. Look after yourself and your family. DM always open if you need to chat further. Chris
